Poetry Retreat at Haliburton School of the Arts

Embrace your inner poet and come play with words during this experimental poetic experience.

During this spontaneous poetry writing class, you'll be guided through a variety of writing exercises to encourage you to explore your voice. You'll learn to edit intuitively, respecting your style while organizing and articulating your thoughts clearly.

Once your poems are complete, you'll make a hand bound chapterbook from a variety of papers, thread, writing implements, tape, images, drawings, markers, paints, and best of all, you will have an opportunity to use typewriters. A fresh delight for some, and a nostalgic experience for others.

Your poems can be heartfelt, emotional and empowering, or fun and cheeky. You can hold them close to your heart or share them with others.
